We were especially pleased by the high level of policy discussion from from start to finish. There was a great deal of audience participation and the questions and comments were incisive and challenging.

We were able to bring several of the top officials in the city - including Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa - into the same room to engage with 150 community activists, labor leaders, academics, students, faith-based leaders and environmentalists.

Maria Elena Durazo, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the LA County Federation of Labor, introduced the Mayor; and Horizon Board member Barbara Maynard and Executive Director Kelly Candaele served as the M.C.s for the day.
